Ecou de romanță - Song Description
Ecou de romanță is a musical interpretation of George Bacovia’s poem, created for the Boema Bacoviană album.
At its heart is a story of waiting - not for hours or days, but through the slow disappearance of an entire year.
Spring ends beneath a clear blue sky. Summer and its nights pass away. Autumn leaves the roads covered in scattered foliage. Through every season, the same hope remains and the same answer returns:
„Tu, n-ai venit!”
With each repetition, however, the words change their meaning. At first there is longing. Then disappointment. Then exhaustion. Time does not heal the absence; it gradually transforms it.
The changing seasons become a measure of emotional distance. What begins as expectation slowly turns into the realization that the person being awaited may never return. By the arrival of winter, something fundamental has changed. The narrator is no longer asking when the absent person will come.
He no longer wants them to.
„Nu mai veni, e prea târziu,
Nu mai veni!”
This reversal is the emotional centre of Ecou de romanță. The final refusal is not anger or revenge. It is the quiet consequence of having waited too long. The door that remained open through spring, summer and autumn finally closes as winter approaches.
As part of Boema Bacoviană, Ecou de romanță transforms Bacovia’s passing seasons into stages of absence: hope, waiting, disappointment, resignation and finally detachment.
It is a romance in which love does not end with a dramatic farewell.
It simply arrives too late.
Lyrics
S-a dus albastrul cer senin
Și primăvara s-a sfârșit -
Te-am așteptat în lung suspin,
Tu, n-ai venit!
Și vara, și nopțile ei,
S-a dus, și câmpu-i veștejit -
Te-am așteptat pe lângă tei,
Tu, n-ai venit!
Târziu, și toamna a plecat,
Frunzișul tot e răvășit -
Plângând, pe drumuri, te-am chemat,
Tu, n-ai venit!
Iar, mâini, cu-al iernii trist pustiu,
De mine-atunci nu vei mai ști
Nu mai veni,
e prea târziu,
Nu mai veni!
