One More (Song Description)

Some endings don't happen all at once. They repeat themselves in endless conversations, unanswered calls and memories we revisit long after we know we should have let them go. One More captures that endless cycle, the quiet addiction of believing that one more chance, one more night or one more goodbye might somehow change everything.

Built on an obsessive bass groove and driven by restless rhythms, the song explores the space between hope and surrender. Its repetitive refrain becomes a mantra rather than a chorus, reflecting the way certain thoughts return over and over until they lose their meaning. Angular guitars, fragmented textures and restrained vocals create a hypnotic atmosphere where tension never fully resolves, echoing the emotional loop at the heart of the lyrics.

Drawing inspiration from the darker edge of early 1980s post-punk, One More combines danceable momentum with cinematic melancholy. Instead of building toward a triumphant climax, the song remains deliberately unsettled, allowing silence, repetition and raw instrumentation to speak as loudly as the words themselves.

As the second chapter of the Forbidden Songs trilogy, following A Shadow in the Night and leading into The Last One, One More represents the moment when letting go still feels impossible. The past hasn't disappeared : it simply keeps asking for one more chance.

Lyrics

Another night I count the same four walls
Another number that I can't recall
You left a coat behind the door
I wear it just to feel you here once more

One more night,
One more lie,
One more reason to say goodbye,
One more time,
I let you go,
One more...
I already know.

The phone still lights up in the dark
I never answer, I just watch the spark
Every message tastes like static rain
I keep it just to feel the pain again

One more night,
One more lie,
One more reason to say goodbye,
One more time,
I let you go,
One more...
I already know.

You said the ending was a kindness, love
A slow undoing, not a shove
But kindness never feels this cold
It just gets easier to be alone

I drive the roads we used to drive
Just to remember I'm alive
The radio plays our old refrain
I turn it up to drown the strain

Give me one more reason
One more thing to hold
One more night of freezing
Before I let this go

So here's to the ghosts that never leave
Here's to the lies I still believe
I'll close the door, I'll turn the key
One more version of what used to be me

One more night,
One more lie,
One more reason to say goodbye,
One more time,
I let you go,
One more...
One more...
I already know.

One more...
One more...
